As Michigan weather slowly turns colder and the leaves start to change, there's concern in myself to do the same. These past few weeks, I've been deeply caught in self reflection and realization. The flood that took a large portion of my work a few months ago was a punch in the gut, but it's also been a blessing in disguise. I'm now at a turning point in my painting exploration where I can open the door to new and exciting ideas. Perhaps, things I never thought to discover.
Today I'm sharing a painting study of mine, Study of Broken Bread (above). In a way, I think it reflects on many things - including this turning point in my artistic pursuit. The idea of brokenness as a paradox for fueling the body and mind for greater things ahead. I invite you to take a moment to reflect on Study of Broken Bread. How do you let your failures define you? Or better yet, how do let your failures fuel you?
